Ok not a special Anglophile but I use several of these words and understand all of them. There are a lot more difficult words and phrases Americans would not get. “Do his nut” was my favorite for a while. Found it in the British version of Harry Potter - the scholastic version dumbed it down to “go ballistic.” Such a loss!

I’m an American in the South and growing up we heard the word hunky dory. I don’t know if other parts of the country did. I also am familiar with skint. The others I know because I’ve watched a good bit of British programming.🙂

Btw, I've heard that the U.S. southern drawl accent is actually the closest to a true English accent if it were spoken at a faster cadence. True or False?

American here... Dodgy and Hunk-dory have been used around here forever. Although, we tend to use Sketchy instead of Dodgy. Gutted and Skint I've heard on very rare occasion--mostly by people from up north. Snog? Never heard it.

Born in the eastern end of Surrey in the early 60s, all of these were familiar, except of course, Mork and Mindy, a recent addition. Number 7 I always knew as your trouble and strife. "How's the trouble been?" Other widely used ones back in the day were Whistle & Flute, Frog & Toad an Ball and Chalk. Just poppin' on me whistle, and goin' for a ball down the frog. To the rubbedy for a pigs of course.
